Anesthesiology Services of Anderson is an independent physician practice. We work alongside your surgeon at the facility where your procedure takes place, and our only job that day is keeping you safe and comfortable.
We use the anesthesia care team model. You are assigned a physician anesthesiologist who directs your care and works with certified registered nurse anesthetists throughout your procedure. Your anesthesiologist meets with you before surgery to review your medical history and answer your questions.
Which approach is right for you depends on the procedure and on your health history. Your anesthesiologist will discuss the plan with you beforehand.
Medication numbs a small, specific area at the surgical site. Used for limited procedures, sometimes combined with sedation for added comfort.
Medication placed near a group of nerves or the spinal cord numbs one limb or the lower body. This includes labor epidurals, and it is often used for pain control after surgery.
Delivered through an IV or as an inhaled gas. You are fully unconscious and unaware for the procedure. A breathing tube is often needed.

Our charges cover the professional services of your anesthesiologist only. The hospital or surgery center bills separately for nurse anesthetists, medications, supplies, and equipment, so you may receive more than one statement.
